Republicans are pulling out some of their greatest hits of dirty tricks in Wisconsin.Corporate front group Americans for Prosperity is mailing absentee ballots to Democrats in at least two districts with instructions to return the ballots after the election date. We’re just one week out from Wisconsin’s recall elections and it’s more important than ever that we talk directly to voters on the ground to give them real information on when and where to vote. Can you join us and make calls to Wisconsin voters this weekend to help Get Out The Vote for next Tuesday’s election?Yes! I’ll make calls to Wisconsin voters this weekend. Sorry, I can’t make calls, but I’ll contribute $5 to help air TV ads in these districts.Talking directly to voters on the phone is important. It cuts through the lies and spin and is one of the most effective ways to Get Out The Vote. We can’t win these elections without that kind of people power, so please join us today. From: Sen.Fitzgerald Sent: Monday, March 14, 2011 3:52 PM To: *Legislative Senate Republicans Subject: Senate Democrat voting privileges in standing committees Dear Members, With the return of the Senate Democrats this weekend, questions have arisen regarding Democrat members’ participation in Senate standing committee public hearings and executive sessions. Please note that all 14 Democrat senators are still in contempt of the Senate. Therefore, when taking roll call votes on amendments and bills during executive sessions, Senate Democrats’ votes will not be reflected in the Records of Committee Proceedings or the Senate Journal. They are free to attend hearings, listen to testimony, debate legislation, introduce amendments, and cast votes to signal their support/opposition, but those votes will not count, and will not be recorded. If you have any questions, feel free to contact my office. Thank you, Scott Fitzgerald Senate Majority Leader 13th Senate District

I AM NOT BEING REPRESENTED IN THE SENATE RIGHT NOW, WTF. thanks, toolbag.

Wow, if your senator is one of the “Wisconsin 14” please know that your votes are not being counted right now and that you barely have any real representation in your government.

We’re recalling Wisconsin State Senators today, tumblr.  I can’t quite explain the atmosphere in Wisconsin today.  People are FIRED up.  Not only is Wisconsin creating state history, but United States history.  This has been and I’m sure will continue to be an interesting process to witness.
I’d appreciate it if anyone who knows individuals in Wisconsin would pass this link on.  This is your fight too.  We rise and fall in this country as one.

Please make a stand and put the government in the hands of the proletariat and not in the pockets of corporate greed and power.  We have a duty as citizens of this great nation to question the status quo, and to stand up to what we feel is wrong.  Please click on the link above and sign the petition to recall the senators that are supporting Walker’s Bill.  This is outrageous.  EVERYONE SHOULD BE ENRAGED!

Yay Wisco!

I’m a Proud Wisconsinite and Thank You Rachel Maddow for the necessary history lesson.  Howard Zinn would be proud.

Ed Schultz is on point.

Honestly, where is the Ted Kennedy of our Generation?!  Where is the next Howard Zinn?  Why won’t the Dems come out and take a stand to support the people that supported them into office; their supposed BASE?!  Harry Reid?  Nancy Pelosi?

Wisconsin, you are fighting “…for the very soul of this country.”

“What is the price, we ask the other side?!…How much more do we have to give, to the private sector and to business?!…WHEN DOES THE GREED STOP?!?!?!”

Wishes I were back in Wisco, protesting with my fellow Wisconsinites over Walker’s proposed legislation to hurt Middle America by making state government workers pay more into their pension, pay more into their healthcare benefits and get a reduction in wages; in addition to taking away their rights to collectively bargain.
Teachers, the individuals that spend more time with your kids than you do, get paid far less than they should; get abused by their students more than they should; and don’t get the respect that they should. I’m proud to say that my elementary, middle and high school education are a product of the Wisconsin/Oshkosh Public Education System. Every single one of my teachers since Kindergarten, has made a substantial impact in my life and I can name every single one of them.
These hardworking people deserve so much more than we’re willing to give. What does it say about our nation as a whole when we’re willing to spend 14 times more on defense than we are on education. Yes building tanks, bombs and jets costs a lot of money. But what is more costly, is ignorance. The widening of the middle class is what prevents this country from having an uprising and a true revolution. The problem with most Americans, myself included, is if the issue doesn’t affect us, then we could care less about the issue. Due to complacency and apathy we, and our future generations to come, will suffer. The poor and those on the lower rungs of the socioeconomic ladder have no voice in America because the more money you have the more freedoms you have. The systemic issues of suppression, oppression and continued ignorance will continue to hurt this country. We can already see that the next generation of kids, don’t give a flying fuck about anything and are so unaffected by all of this. But they will be bearing the burden of our decisions. Let’s think outside the box and let’s build a better future for us, our children, their children and for all future generations. Let’s not be shortsighted and hurt America’s future by trying to save a few bucks to reduce our national deficit. Let’s focus on the big ticket items that our country spends its money on and reduce our spending on those items. Let’s not cut crucial programs like the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program; let’s expect more from our teachers and our schools and let’s pay them more since they are raising our children; let’s enact true change by demanding it. Stop being complacent; call your local and state representatives to express your concerns; stay informed of the issues and READ; READ between the lines and stop believing everything that is said; don’t buy into the rhetoric.
